Fixz Insurance Policy

Last Updated: [18/09/2025]

This Insurance Policy (“Policy”) explains the insurance requirements and responsibilities that apply to independent contractors, service providers, stores, delivery partners, riders, and other professionals who provide services through the Fixz app, website, and related platforms (“Fixz”, “we”, “our”, or “us”).

By registering, listing services, accepting bookings, or providing services through Fixz, service providers agree to comply with the insurance requirements set out in this Policy.

1. Purpose

The purpose of this Policy is to:

Help protect customers, service providers, delivery partners, and Fixz from financial losses arising from accidents, property damage, injuries, negligence, or service-related incidents.

Encourage responsible and professional service delivery through the Fixz platform.

Ensure that service providers performing higher-risk services maintain appropriate insurance coverage where required by law or by Fixz.

Support compliance with applicable laws and operational requirements in the United Kingdom, United Arab Emirates, Syria, and any other country where Fixz services are available.

2. Applicability

This Policy applies to all service providers, contractors, stores, delivery partners, riders, and other professionals using the Fixz platform.

Insurance requirements may vary depending on the service category, country, risk level, local law, and Fixz’s internal approval requirements.

High-risk service providers may be required to maintain valid insurance before accepting bookings or providing services through Fixz.

Lower-risk service providers may be encouraged, but not always required, to maintain insurance coverage unless required by law, contract, or Fixz platform rules.

3. High-Risk Services

High-risk services may include, but are not limited to:

Electrical work.

Plumbing work.

Gas-related services.

HVAC, air conditioning, and refrigeration services.

Construction, renovation, and maintenance work.

Moving, lifting, or furniture handling.

Appliance repair and installation.

Pest control.

Cleaning services involving chemicals or specialist equipment.

Delivery services involving valuable, fragile, regulated, or sensitive items.

Any service that may involve a risk of injury, property damage, legal liability, or financial loss.

Fixz may classify additional services as high-risk at its discretion.

4. Required Insurance Coverage

Where applicable, service providers must maintain suitable insurance coverage at their own cost. Depending on the service type and country, this may include:

Public Liability Insurance

Public Liability Insurance may cover claims involving injury, death, or property damage caused to customers, third parties, or property during the provision of services.

High-risk service providers may be required to maintain Public Liability Insurance with a coverage limit appropriate to the nature of their work and in accordance with applicable local laws.

Professional Indemnity Insurance

Professional Indemnity Insurance may be required where the service involves professional advice, technical judgment, design, inspection, consulting, repair assessment, or specialist expertise.

This insurance may cover claims arising from professional negligence, errors, omissions, or incorrect advice.

Employer’s Liability Insurance

Service providers who employ staff, workers, subcontractors, or assistants may be required to maintain Employer’s Liability Insurance where required by law.

This is required by law in certain jurisdictions, including the United Kingdom, subject to applicable legal requirements.

Workers’ Compensation Insurance

Where applicable, service providers who employ staff, workers, or subcontractors may be required to maintain workers’ compensation or equivalent insurance to cover workplace injuries, medical costs, or wage-related benefits.

Vehicle, Motorbike, or Delivery Insurance

Delivery partners, riders, or service providers using a vehicle, motorcycle, bicycle, or other transport method must ensure they have the correct licence, registration, permits, and insurance required by applicable law.

Personal vehicle insurance may not cover commercial delivery or paid work. It is the delivery partner’s responsibility to ensure their insurance permits commercial delivery activity.

5. Proof of Insurance

Fixz may require service providers to submit proof of valid insurance before accepting bookings, receiving leads, joining high-risk categories, or continuing to use the platform.

Insurance documents must be valid, accurate, current, and renewed before expiry.

Fixz may request updated insurance documents at any time.

Fixz may verify insurance documents directly or through third parties where permitted.

Failure to provide valid proof of insurance may result in account restriction, suspension, removal from certain categories, withholding of access to bookings, or termination of access to the platform.

6. Expired, Cancelled, or Invalid Insurance

Service providers must immediately notify Fixz if their insurance is cancelled, expired, suspended, modified, restricted, or no longer covers the services they provide.

Service providers must not accept or perform any service that requires insurance if their insurance is invalid, expired, cancelled, or insufficient.

If Fixz becomes aware that a service provider does not hold valid required insurance, Fixz may restrict or suspend the account or remove the provider from relevant service categories.

7. Responsibilities of Service Providers

Service providers are responsible for:

Obtaining and maintaining all insurance required by law, contract, or Fixz platform rules.

Ensuring their insurance covers the exact services they provide.

Ensuring their staff, workers, assistants, subcontractors, vehicles, tools, and activities are covered where required.

Providing accurate insurance documents when requested.

Renewing insurance before expiry.

Informing Fixz immediately of any cancellation, expiry, claim, restriction, or change in coverage.

Cooperating with customers, insurers, authorities, and Fixz in the event of an incident or claim.

Paying any excess, deductible, uninsured amount, penalty, liability, or cost not covered by insurance.

Service providers remain fully responsible for their actions, omissions, work quality, staff, subcontractors, tools, vehicles, and legal compliance.

8. Limitation of Fixz’s Role

Fixz is a technology platform that connects customers with service providers, stores, contractors, riders, and delivery partners.

Fixz does not provide insurance to service providers unless expressly stated in writing.

Fixz is not an insurer, insurance broker, insurance agent, financial adviser, or underwriter.

Fixz does not guarantee that a service provider’s insurance will cover a specific claim, incident, service, loss, damage, or liability.

Any insurance information shown on the platform is for operational and verification purposes only and should not be treated as professional insurance advice.

Service providers are solely responsible for obtaining appropriate insurance advice and maintaining adequate coverage.

9. Customer Awareness

Customers understand that services are provided by independent service providers, contractors, stores, riders, or delivery partners.

Where a service provider is required to hold insurance, Fixz may request proof of insurance as part of its onboarding or verification process. However, Fixz does not guarantee that insurance coverage will apply to every incident or claim.

Customers should report any issue, damage, loss, injury, or complaint through the Fixz app or by contacting Fixz support as soon as possible.

10. Claims and Incidents

If an incident occurs, including injury, property damage, loss, theft, negligence, defective work, or other service-related issue, the service provider must:

Notify Fixz as soon as possible.

Notify their insurer where applicable.

Cooperate with the customer, insurer, authorities, and Fixz.

Provide relevant documents, photos, reports, invoices, communication records, and claim references where requested.

Avoid making false, misleading, or incomplete statements.

Customers and service providers should resolve insurance claims directly through the relevant insurance provider where applicable.

Fixz may assist in facilitating communication between customers, service providers, and insurers, but Fixz is not responsible for approving, rejecting, paying, managing, or resolving insurance claims.

11. Uninsured or Underinsured Claims

If a service provider does not hold valid insurance, or if their insurance does not cover a claim, the service provider remains personally responsible for any resulting loss, damage, claim, cost, penalty, or liability.

Fixz is not responsible for losses or claims caused by a service provider’s failure to obtain or maintain proper insurance, except where liability cannot legally be excluded.

Where permitted by law, Fixz’s liability is limited in accordance with the applicable Fixz Terms and Conditions.

12. Platform Restrictions

Fixz may suspend, restrict, or terminate a service provider’s account if the service provider:

Fails to provide valid insurance when required.

Provides false, expired, altered, or misleading insurance documents.

Performs high-risk services without required insurance.

Fails to notify Fixz of expired, cancelled, or changed insurance coverage.

Misrepresents their qualifications, licences, permits, or insurance status.

Fails to cooperate with an insurance claim or incident investigation.

Breaches this Policy or any other Fixz terms.

13. Country-Specific Requirements

Insurance requirements may vary depending on the country where the service is provided.

For United Kingdom services, service providers must comply with applicable laws of England and Wales, including any legal insurance requirements relevant to their service category, workers, vehicles, or business activity.

For United Arab Emirates services, service providers must comply with applicable UAE laws, licensing requirements, insurance requirements, and regulatory rules relevant to their service category.

For Syria services, service providers must comply with applicable local laws, operational requirements, insurance availability, licensing requirements, and service limitations in Syria.

Where local law requires a different or higher level of insurance, the local legal requirement will apply.

14. No Waiver of Legal Duties

This Policy does not remove, reduce, or replace any legal duty, licence requirement, professional requirement, health and safety obligation, employment obligation, vehicle requirement, or insurance obligation imposed by applicable law.

Service providers remain responsible for complying with all laws, regulations, professional standards, and licensing rules that apply to their work.

15. Changes to This Policy

Fixz may update this Policy from time to time to reflect changes in services, operations, insurance requirements, legal obligations, or platform features.

The updated version will be posted on the Fixz app, website, or other official communication channels. Continued use of Fixz after updates means you accept the revised Policy.

16. Governing Law and Disputes

This Policy is governed by the applicable laws of the country or territory where the service is provided, unless otherwise required by law or stated in separate terms.

For UK services, this Policy is governed by the laws of England and Wales.

For UAE services, this Policy is governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates.

For Syria services, this Policy is subject to applicable local laws and operational requirements in Syria.

Any disputes shall be handled in accordance with the applicable Fixz terms, local laws, and jurisdiction relevant to the service location.
